Welcome to Week 1 of the 2021 Spring One Room Challenge 2021! During the scope of this project, we will be remodeling the Bramasole Due’s kitchen. Now the premise of this entire project revolves around remodeling for less than $3,000. What do you say? Is this even possible? Renovating your kitchen for less than $3,000 without demolishing anything. I don’t believe it! Start believing because it’s totally possible. And that is what we’re going to cover over the next eight weeks. Our kitchen is transforming using paint, textures, an Haute Bohemian color scheme, and a crapload of gorgeous finishing Touches.
I’m going to show you exactly how the design process works from concept to execution and everything in between. Any questions that you had about the popularity of virtual design will be answered during the next eight weeks. As a designer, I find it easy to help others transform their spaces without a hitch. However, when it comes to creating a design for my own space, the inspiration demon arrives on the scene and steals my muses gusto.
For this project that I’ve nicknamed the $2500k Jewel box kitchen, we will create a hot bohemian escape where wine will be on display, pots will be organized in some of the most beautiful ways, and cooking will become a luxury experience versus something do because I have to. Sounds fabulous, doesn’t it?
The design scheme we’re going for is dark and Moody. I’m talking about dark ceilings, walls, finishing Touches, cabinetry, open shelves… The works. I’ll be going bald my home with this design. Over the last 13 years, I’ve lived in a Mediterranean kitchen. While it was beautiful during its early days the thrill has worn off as well as this design Style. Time for a super sultry update. And what better way to do so than With The Ball Z notion of dark and Moody maximalist design in a kitchen. Can we pull it off?

While the stripes found in both the rug and patio umbrella hint at a bit of a modern vibe, it’s the black and white patterns and beautiful trellis combination that bring the old worldliness of this eclectic look together. Most times, Bohemian designs don’t include a large selection of florals. However, we created this look with a gorgeous backyard resting place in mind. So we’ve added some gorgeous faux florals from Terrain in the mix to lend a lively look to the area.

Or specifically, let’s talk about my new business card. I’m excited to introduce the design to you. Now that might seem a bit strange to read. However, I’ve been using an old business card for the past 6 years, a design that was created during the early days of my book author career. The skulls. The dark flowers. Yeah, it was all pretty darn appropriate for a Gothic Romance writer. An interior designer needs something a bit different.
Enter the newly designed KaSonndra Leigh Designs business card.
I wasn’t playing around this time. The design needed to give potential clients and customers a clear image of what my interior design studio was all about. Of course, I’m sure you can see the Bohemian in the intricate pattern. Yet the other styles we create are there as well. The card portrays the various types of design plans that KaSonndra Leigh Designs focuses on. That would include all types of bohemian, urban modern, industrial, Mediterranean, french country, modern French, art deco, contemporary, and traditional styling.
My design style focuses on bringing a concept into the client’s space. Mood, functionality, and purpose all belong in our design plans. Even though we focus mainly on the styles mentioned in the above paragraph, we’re still open to creating concept boards for other types of design styles as well. The ultimate goal… to create the perfect living space.
When you walk into a room that has been designed by KLD, you will know that you have either stepped back in time or moved forward by a great many decades. Think post-apocalyptic meets urban modern.
We are now taking on new e-design clients. Do you want to know what e-design is all about? No worries. We’re working on creating a video to demonstrate the process. Over the next few months, we will be adding traditional design and virtual staging packages as well.

Welcome to my new interior design blog right here on KaSonndraLeigh.com. As some of you may know, or at least those of you who’ve been following me on Instagram for the past 4 years, I have rebranded from LiveWellBeFabulous (LiWBF) to KaSonndraLeighDesigns on Instagram. This doesn’t mean that I’m shutting down LiveWellBeFabulous.com at all. LiWBF is still the main lifestyle blog of the KaSonndraLeigh Brand. We will still cover travel, fashion, and home decor over onLiveWellBeFabulous.com. However, articles dedicated to book news and interior design will be posted here on KaSonndraLeigh.com.
You will also find news about my books and such right on this site as well. The two worlds married together well and complement each other. So it made sense to begin the interior design portion of my official certification adventure right here on this website. So what have I been doing over the past few months? Well, I’ve been building my portfolio and working with some pretty fabulous clients. KaSonndra Leigh Designs focuses on what is called lifestyle concept plans.
Our rooms feature quality products and a combination of mood, functionality, and other design elements that work together to create our client’s ideal setting. For that reason, you’ll find both fun and moody designs in our portfolio. The perfect example of that is our current project, a beautiful Art Deco renovation of a ranch house. This is the largest project that I’ve taken on so far and I am loving every minute of the project. I can’t wait to show you the before and after photos.
I’m also participating in the Better Homes and Garden One Room Challenge this fall. Coverage of my progress on that site will take place on Live Well Be Fabulous for the fall, 2019, challenge and then here on KaSonndraLeigh.com for the spring, 2019, round. I’ve chosen to makeover my son’s bedroom. The plan is to turn it into an urban modern retreat that also serves as a guest room.

We will set up a virtual studio dedicated to your design plan, and a place where we can collaborate while working together. How does that sound? Welcome to the 10th Anniversary edition of KaSonndraLeigh.com. That’s right. It was 10 years ago that I created the very first venture into Authorland and claimed my stake on the penulis community. I recall knowing nothing about the technicalities of web design much less how to fend off cyber attacks. I had just started working on my writing degree and had a story rumbling around in my head for days.
I wish I had taken screenshots of that first website so you could understand just how far the KaSonndra Leigh empire has come since those first days of pixelated website photos. As my life has taken on new directions and new ventures, I thought this website needed to do the same… again! The emphasis has shifted to the two main aspects of my life… writing and home decor aka interior design.
No worries for book lovers though. Just because the homepage now showcases gorgeously styled rooms and other things don’t mean that the upcoming releases have been postponed. They haven’t. I’m still hard at work on the last installment of the Lost Immortals Saga and the Emerald Isle, two releases that have been very enjoyable to write. When working with our designers on the layout of this new website, I requested a combination of both the old and new. Some of you might recognize the various quotes scattered throughout the website. A few of them were used on the original website from 2009.
On this last note, I’m going to leave a few last words of thanks for your support over the last 10 years of this fabulous journey. Thank you for standing by my side and supporting all my endeavors. Because of your generous support I’ve been able to sustain a beautiful platform that allows me the freedom to be a mega creative. For that, I am eternally grateful.
I cannot wait to share the next chapter in this adventure with you!
It’s time for the KaSonndraLeighBooks February update I’m excited to annNewsounce that the publishing season kicked off with a reboot of one our all-time fave novels, Hacienda Moon. The second book in this duology, Emerald Isle, is planned for publication in October, 2018.
The last installment of the Lost Immortals Saga is almost done. Finally! I truly appreciate those of you who have stuck by my side and encouraged me to keep writing. This novel (which is going to be a whopper clocking in at around 496 pages) is specifically for all of you. I’m very pleased with the way the story has turned out. The characters took over and I had a great time laying out the story that they’ve created. Can you believe it has been six years since When Copper Suns Fall was published? What a fabulous journey this has been.
